Demidov Acting Technique Retreat
Poland, 4-12 January 2026
Following the success of the first Demidov Acting Technique Retreat in Poland in January this year, we are very pleased to announce that the Retreat will again take place in the same location in the beautiful Polish mountains in January, 2026.
The first Demidov Retreat, that took place in January 2025, was a lively creative space for the collaboration and interaction among actors who apply Demidov’s principles in their work and are interested in diving deeper in more demanding aspects of the technique under the guidance of Andrei Biziorek and Vicky Georgiadou, two of the most experienced teachers in the Demidov Technique worldwide and certified by Demidov Association.
During Demidov Retreat 2026, in a spirit of openness, generosity and support, actors will discover the power of a vibrant internal technique and the flow of an inner transformative process, the ability to surrender to the creative freedom of perception, and the driving forces of energies that are beyond our conscious mind.
Structure, material and research areas
Over a seven-day period, actors will work in two groups that will rotate so that we work in small groups and still have the experience of a whole ensemble which will explore different partnerships and have the opportunity to dive more deeply into their potential as artists. We will work on the foundations of the technique through the Demidov Etudes, as well as discovering the development and deepening of character and the power of circumstances, through work on scenes from given plays, selected by Andrei Biziorek and Vicky Georgiadou, according to the individuality of each participant and creative dynamics of the group.
Creative Concentration and Scale Work
The group will stay and work together in a mountain location in Poland for the duration of the retreat, with delicious vegetarian food prepared by our hosts. It offers the opportunity to escape the distractions and stresses of everyday modern living to focus on our artistic development. In addition to the class work sessions, time will be allocated for discussions and sharing of observations about the ongoing process.
There will also be evening sessions offered that are dedicated to exercises that foster a heightened sense of perception, awaken creative instincts, and cultivate a shared sense of community. These sessions will include explorations in voice, movement, and rhythm—practices designed to deepen our connection to ourselves, each other, and the creative process.
Unconditional love for the actors
Demidov Retreat is an Artistic and Research Gathering that aims to dive deeper into more demanding and relatively unexplored aspects of the Demidov School of acting and to extend the network of theatre practitioners that study and apply Demidov’s Technique in their artistic work.
With unconditional love for the actors and with respect to each one’s creative individuality, Demidov’s path restores the value and the power of actor’s art and faith in the actor’s own talent.
Dates and Location
The Demidov Retreat 2026 will take place in the Mandala Retreat Centre in Poland (Targoszów 51A, 34-206 Krzeszów) from the 4th to the 12th of January 2026 and the sessions will be conducted in English.
