Vicky Georgiadou
Vicky Georgiadou is a theatre director, an acting teacher and the director of Demidov Studio Athens.
She studied theatre at the Drama Department of the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and at the University of Kent, UK.
As a director, she has directed more than 20 classic and contemporary plays, including Caryl Churchill’s Far Away, Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman, Danid Harrower’s Backbird, Enda Walsh’s Small Things, Arthur Schnitzler’s Liebelei, Odon Von Horvath’s The Unknow of the Seine, W.B. Yeats’ Deirdre etc.
As an assistant director (1993-1999), she has worked with numerous directors at the Piramatiki Skini of Thessaloniki, at the Actors Touring Company in London and at the Trinity College, Dublin, at Notos Theatre Company, at the National Theater of Greece and at Lefteris Voyiatzis’ “Nea Skini”.
Since 1999, she is teaching Acting in the Drama School “Arhi”. She has also taught Acting courses at the Athens Conservatory’s Drama Department (2015-2020), the Drama Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2006-2011) and the Drama School of the National Theatre of Northern Greece (2009-2010).
Since 2019, she is researching and teaching the techniques of Nikolai Demidov. In 2021, she founded Demidov Studio Athens, the official Greek Chapter of the International Demidov Association. In 2023, she graduated from the International Demidov Association’s first Teacher Certification Program and she is one of the few certified teachers of the Demidov Organic Technique worldwide.
