the revolutionary technique of Nikolai Demidov
After three years of training and research in the revolutionary technique of Nikolai Demidov, Demidov Studio Athens Lab presented William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, its first experimental production.
Demidov School of acting had disappeared for more that 70 years in the Soviet Russia. It was only at the beginning of the 21st century that the theatre community got access to Nikolai Demidov’s School of Creative Freedom.
Demidov Studio Athens Lab, under the direction of Vicky Georgiadou, is one of the first ensembles in the world that works on and applies Demidov’s technique.
In Demidov Studio Athens’ production, the actors work with the material of an author that loved his characters in a unique way and use the creative path of a great pedagogue and researcher in the art of acting that loved the actors and their creative freedom in an equally unique way.
Shakespeare's world: a magic wander in human wonders
In Twelfth Night
Death opens the way for love.
A shipwreck opens a new world full of challenges.
Two siblings, twins, a boy and a girl are separated by a fairytale of the sea.
Two young girls, whose names resonate one another, dive in the world and fight for their freedom, for their right to live.
A Duke from the wild Illyria becomes a romantic hero and surrenders to the “deadly life” of his love.
A dangerous pirate is wounded by the arrow of Eros.
A steward tries to move the strings of fate and he ends up falling in the trap of his own ambitions.
A fool, merry and wise, softens the souls and sharpens the minds of some strange Illyrians.
A company of competitors are united to take revenge on hypocrisy.
Knights and servants play in the light of the night and in the shadows of the day in Olivia’s garden.
Between Orsino’s palace and Olivia’s noble house lives the mythic and bizarre world of Illyria.
People disguise to change their faith and faith plays with their disguise to reveal the magnitude of life.
Twelfth Night is a fairytale based on the material of a real and cruel world.
Shakespeare, boldly and generously, opens the field of life in front of his characters and he offers his actors and his audience an etude of emotions and reconciliation with the innumerous versions of the human.
